I use a range of methods depending on the individual needs and I operate a confidential service. I have experience of working with adults, working with children in a school setting and extensive private practice experience working with people of all ages and diversities. I am DDP Level 1 trained which supports LAAC and their carers/families. I have extensive experience of working with CYP & families who have experienced Domestic Abuse

I specialise in working with Neurodiverse people and have trained in a specialist play therapy called Autplay Therapy devised specifically for Autism and other neurodivergent children & Young People. I have been successful in offering pre screenings/assessments for Neurodevelopmental differences within school settings and privately.  I have been successful in having many children placed on the CAMHS Neurodevelopmental pathway for full assessments. This is something that I can offer privately also.

Meet Eleanor

Hello, my name is Eleanor and I am a qualified counsellor/ psychotherapist. I provide an empathic, warm, non-judgemental space, where together we can explore what is going on for you. I am an integrative counsellor, whereby I use a range of methods to suit the clients needs, including talking therapy and play therapy. I am particularly interested in exploring attachment styles with my clients as I believe our early attachments can significantly shape the people that we become. I also have a keen interest in working with neurodivergent children, young people and adults. I have completed training in this and I am continuing my development in it.

I am currently offering online and Walk & Talk sessions for adults and face-to-face sessions for children at Tong Hall, BD4 0RR ; they are both safe and confidential spaces.

Tasha is accredited by MBACP and follow the ethical framework

I initially from 2007 worked with adults, (at what was known then as Leeds Counselling Services and now known as Northpoint Wellbeing) up until 2013. From 2013 via Northpoint Wellbeing, I began working with children and parents within various Leeds Schools Clusters .

I am a qualified Supervisor, I hold a Level 7 PG Cert in Supervison in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Helping Professions.

What you can expect

Confidential

Confidentiality is considered to be one of the foundations of the therapeutic relationship. Clients may share / disclose personal information with a therapist and they will feel more confident to do this if they are reassured that their personal information will be discussed and recorded in confidence. At the outset of therapy it is the responsibility of the therapist (myself) to explain to you and ensure you understand about confidentiality.

Trust

If you trust someone, you believe that they are honest and sincere and will not deliberately do anything to harm you.

A good counsellor is someone who can use compassion, empathy, respect and authenticity to form a genuine, trusting relationship with their clients. This is what I will endeavour to do whenever we are in contact.
